Data Mining Applied to Analysis of Poverty Zones in Mexico

I served as a chair of Alejandro Ayala-Lopez’s Graduate Supervisory Committee. He received the degree of Master in Information Technology from the School of Economics and Management (CUCEA)at Universidad de Guadalajara.

This thesis was successfully defended on January 2006.

Introduction

This work aims to adapt a model data mining methodology, incorporating the use of a software tool freely available, to apply in the treatment of official data, taking as case study the phenomenon of poverty in households and locations in Mexico and its measurement reference year 2000.
